Florida market
Broward runs on the water and on a customer base that is out of town half the year. We work with Fort Lauderdale businesses from our Miami headquarters, roughly thirty miles south.
Marketing a business in Fort Lauderdale means selling into a calendar set by the water. Marine trades, waterfront property services and hospitality peak between the fall boat show and late spring, and much of the customer base owns a second home and is away half the year. In practice that means local pages for the marinas and small cities you actually serve, plus the ability to quote and schedule remotely.
The Market
Fort Lauderdale is tied to boats in a way no other city in this group is. Yacht sales, refit yards, canvas and rigging shops, engine mechanics, brokers, captains and crew agencies form a real supply chain along the New River and the Intracoastal, and it supports a wide ring of businesses that never touch a hull. Add the cruise terminals at Port Everglades and an airport sitting next to them, and a large share of local trade comes down to people arriving, spending, and leaving again.
The residential picture is split. A permanent population lives here all year, and alongside it sits a large stock of second homes and rentals whose owners are somewhere else for months at a time. Home services firms end up doing two different jobs: routine work for residents, and remote work for absent owners who need photographs, a written scope and a card on file rather than a conversation at the kitchen table. Marketing that assumes every customer can meet you on site quietly loses the second group.
Search competition in Broward is real but less concentrated than in Miami-Dade, and it is spread across a chain of small cities rather than one dominant name. Someone in Wilton Manors, Plantation or Pompano Beach rarely types Fort Lauderdale into the box at all. Ranking across that chain means separate service area pages carrying genuine local detail, not one page with thirty city names stacked in the footer. That footer list is the single most common thing we find and remove on a Broward site.
The Calendar
The year here effectively opens in late October, when the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show fills the marinas and the hotels and pulls buyers into town. Season carries through winter and spring on cruise sailings, seasonal residents and visitors. Summer is quieter for anything tourist facing and busier for air conditioning, roofing and storm work, since hurricane season overlaps it. Marine and hospitality clients generally want the site, the booking flow and the ad budget ready by September rather than November, because demand does not wait for anyone to finish a redesign.
Where We Do The Most Work
A large share of Broward inventory is second homes and seasonal rentals. Owners hire from out of state, so the decision is made entirely on what they find online and how fast somebody answers.
Property Management marketingTurnovers, seasonal open-ups and close-downs, and vessel interiors give this category a demand curve tied to arrivals and departures rather than to a steady weekly residential route.
Commercial and Residential Cleaning marketingWaterfront work is its own trade here: docks, seawalls, lifts and canal-side remodels. Buyers search for the waterfront specialty by name, not for a general remodeling term.
General Contractors marketingAbsent owners need systems checked and humidity managed while nobody is home, which turns a reactive category into a maintenance agreement sold months ahead of the visit itself.

Questions
If yours is not here, a free strategy call is the fastest way to get a specific answer about your market and your numbers.
Book a Free CallTwo things matter. First, the site has to close the sale without a site visit, so scope, pricing approach, photographs of finished work and a clear way to approve and pay remotely all carry more weight than they would elsewhere. Second, timing beats volume. Owners decide before they travel and just after they arrive, so the fall and the first weeks of season are when to be visible. Email and remarketing to past customers do a lot of quiet work in the months they are away.
Several, but only for places you genuinely serve and can say something real about. Broward search behaves as a chain of small cities, and people use their own city name rather than the county or the largest one. A page naming the neighborhoods, the kind of property common there and the work you have done nearby will hold up. A page that is the same text with the city swapped gets treated as a doorway page, which is worse than not publishing it at all.
Usually you should move it rather than cut it. Tourist and marine demand falls off, but air conditioning, roofing, restoration and storm preparation all climb through the same months, so the answer depends on what you sell. For seasonal businesses the expensive mistake is going dark until October, because organic visibility takes time to build and you want to be ranking before the boat show rather than scrambling during it. We generally shift spend between categories instead of pulling it out.
Not for the work. Our one office is in Miami and we serve clients across the United States and Canada from it, so Broward is a short drive rather than a remote account. What matters more is that we do not treat Fort Lauderdale as an extension of Miami-Dade. The competitive set is different, the search volumes are different, and a plan copied from a Miami client tends to over-invest in the wrong neighborhoods. We build the local map from your actual service area instead.
