Criminal Defense Attorneys marketing.

Criminal defense is bought in hours, usually by a family member, usually at night. Everything on the site has to work for a caller who is panicking.

How do you market a criminal defense attorneys business?

Criminal defense marketing is built around emergency intent. Most inquiries come within hours of an arrest, frequently from a spouse or parent rather than the defendant, and often overnight. Rank for charge-specific and courthouse-specific searches, make the phone number the primary action on every screen, staff or answer calls after hours, and publish clear explanations of bond, arraignment and first-appearance timelines. The firm approves any statement touching results or experience.

What Is Different Here

Why criminal defense attorneys do not market like everyone else.

The decision window is measured in hours. Someone is in custody, a first appearance is scheduled, and a family is trying to find counsel before it happens. Nobody in that situation reads a blog post about choosing an attorney. They search a charge or a jail name, they call the first two or three firms that answer, and they retain whoever picks up and sounds competent.

The searcher is frequently not the client. A mother, a spouse or an employer is doing the research and making the call. That changes the copy entirely. It has to explain what happens next in the process, what the firm can do before the first court date, and how to reach a person right now, without assuming the reader understands the terminology.

Charges are also the natural content structure, and they are highly specific. DUI, domestic violence, drug possession, white collar, probation violation and juvenile matters attract different searchers with different urgency and different price sensitivity. A single overview page covering all of them competes for nothing and answers nobody.

What Gets In The Way

The problems that actually cost you revenue.

The window closes overnight

Arrests cluster in evenings and weekends, and the family calls immediately. A firm with business-hours-only answering loses those matters to whoever picked up at midnight. Marketing that produces calls the firm cannot take is not a marketing win, it is wasted spend.

The caller is not the defendant

A relative is searching, panicking and unfamiliar with the process. Copy written to address the accused directly misses them. So do intake scripts that ask questions the caller cannot answer, and forms that require details only the person in custody would know.

Charge pages compete separately

A DUI searcher and a federal fraud searcher have nothing in common except the practice area. They use different terms, evaluate different credentials and pay very differently. One combined criminal defense page serves neither, and thin one-paragraph charge pages do not rank against firms that wrote real ones.

Reputation content is unusually visible

Court records, news coverage and review sites surface prominently for a defense firm's name. Prospects search the attorney before calling. Without owned pages that rank for the firm's own name and attorney names, whatever a third party published fills that space.

How We Work

What we do about it.

Charge and courthouse page structure

One substantial page per charge type the firm takes, plus pages for the specific courts and jurisdictions it appears in. Each explains penalties in that state, what happens at first appearance and what the firm does in the first 48 hours. That is what the after-hours searcher is actually looking for.

Built for a call, not a form

A tap-to-call number fixed on every screen, load speed tuned for a phone on cellular data, and clear after-hours language. We work with you on answering coverage before increasing spend, because the program's return depends on someone picking up at the hour the calls arrive.

Owning the firm's own name in search

Attorney bio pages, a properly structured firm profile, review presence and consistent listings so that a prospect checking you out finds your material first. We monitor what ranks for your names and address gaps with owned content rather than reacting after a bad result appears.

Questions

What criminal defense attorneys ask us first.

If yours is not here, a free strategy call is the fastest way to get a specific answer about your market and your numbers.

Book a Free Call
Most of our calls come at night. Can marketing help with that?

It can, and it is usually the highest-return change available. We look at when calls actually arrive, then align paid search schedules, answering coverage and the site's call-first layout to those hours. If nights and weekends are unstaffed, we would rather fix that before raising ad spend. An unanswered midnight call from a family with an arraignment tomorrow is a case lost after you already paid for it.

Can you advertise our case results?

Only with your approval, and within your state bar's rules. We do not publish outcomes, dismissal counts or comparative claims unless the firm has reviewed and signed off, and we do not write anything that implies a result in a future case. Many firms find it safer and just as persuasive to describe process, experience and courthouse familiarity instead. That approach also holds up when rules change.

Should we build a page for every charge type?

For every charge you genuinely want more of, yes, and written properly rather than as a stub. Thin pages covering twenty charges in a paragraph each rank for nothing and look like filler to a reader deciding fast. Better to publish six real pages covering your core charges, with state-specific penalties and first-steps guidance, then expand. We prioritize by the charge mix you want, not by search volume alone.

How fast does this start producing calls?

Paid search can produce calls in days, which is why many defense firms start there. Organic and local visibility take longer, generally months, and depend heavily on how established the competing firms are in your county. Local map presence and review volume often move first. We report on calls answered and consultations booked rather than rankings alone, since a ranking that does not produce a live conversation is not doing the job.
